Rana Sweis

Journalist

Rana F. Sweis is a journalist and media researcher. She is currently a freelance journalist for the New York Times (Global Edition) and writes mainly about political reform, refugees and social issues.

She is on the executive committee of Leaders of Tomorrow, a youth led organization in Jordan that works on building community leaders, fostering creativity and encouraging debate. She is also the lead researcher in Jordan for the Open Society Institute-sponsored Mapping Digital Media Study. Rana holds an MA from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and a BA in Print Journalism from Hofstra University in New York.
