Mir Kazim Ali has over 20 years of global experience in building material and construction industry. He has played an instrumental role in improving operational performance and leading teams to success in various countries in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. He has mentored several engineers in Africa, Europe and Asia to improve the energy consumption and has conducted knowledge transfer courses and workshops globally.
He has a passion for energy conservation and reducing the carbon footprint at a global scale. He has been actively involved in reducing energy consumption in the cement manufacturing industry globally. He returned to Canada in 2018 to work as Vice President of Cement Quality in the technology sector, and is currently leading teams to implement Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the cement manufacturing industry through software development.
Prior to his return to Canada, he served as General Manager – Tuban Plant of Holcim Indonesia, Group of Lafarge Holcim and as Operational Development Advisor to CEO at Saudi Cement. He has also served as a member of the Advisory Council of Dhahran British Grammar School in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, USA, a Masters of Science in Engineering from the Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a Bachelors of Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Pakistan and is a certified Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada.
