Joan Wucher King provides a range of advisory services to professional services firms and senior management as head of Arundel Consulting, which she founded in 2002.

Joan has worked in all areas of professional communications and market analytics throughout her career, handling extensive industry marketing, strategic and creative assignments. She began her career as a university lecturer, before joining The Financial Times as journalist covering the Middle East. Joan was head of corporate communications at a UK merchant bank and then partner in charge of financial services and industry marketing at Andersen, the global professional services firm and went on to head financial services marketing at KPMG, another global professional services firm. Her current portfolio of work covers a wide range of industry sectors, including financial services, pharma and healthcare, technology and real estate for client markets in the US, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

During Joan’s time in the Middle East, she wrote a major history of modern Egypt, a country where she did her graduate degree and worked as a lecturer, journalist and researcher. While in Saudi Arabia she led research on a variety of political and economic topics for the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has a particular professional and personal interest in the interplay of religion and politics and is currently writing on that topic. Joan is is a founding board member of the Quorum Initiative, a group which supports the professional advancement of women to C-Suite positions internationally.
