Extraordinary Women from Around the World Share their Stories and Values
"Inspires, thrills [and] touches the soul... Thank you [to] all the brave and valuable women authors of these letters, for let us share their fights, pains, and victories"
The collection features acclaimed Booker-prize nominated Elif Shafak writing a letter to Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand after the Christchurch attack, activist and TV presenter June Sarpong OBE addressing designer Diane Von Furstenberg, Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan of Jordan to her grandmothers, activist, journalist Mariane Pearl to an anonymous woman, and children’s nutrition author and entrepreneur Annabel Karmel MBE to her daughter Laura.
“I invited [a series of] trailblazing women to open up their hearts in a way that they had not done before. I wanted us to speak about our stories, the stories -and women- who defined us. I hope that, as you are reading this volume, you may explore – as I did – some new corridors and rooms in your own life’s story, in your memory. This collective legacy is now yours”
Each is based on these women’s personal histories and experiences, drawing attention to social issues such as gender equality, homelessness, war, LGBTQ activism, mental health, Covid19 and the refugee crisis.
"From Women to the World" is a book that shows us the power that women have not just to inspire each other, but also to motivate and reinvent our world.
