Dr Ishrat Bano

Dr Ishrat Bano is a PhD from the Cambridge University and worked as a mentor for Queen’s Young Leaders Program consecutively from 2015 onward.

She was a key speaker in United Nations Science, technology and Innovation Forum in 2016. She has participated in the 60th Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany. She worked in various mentoring circles and has volunteered for different charities. She is the reviewer of few scientific journals and serves at the judging Committee of international bodies. She has a vast experience of working closely with policymakers, healthcare professionals, educationalists and entrepreneurs.

Dr Ishrat also has a degree in Entrepreneurial Skills Development Studies from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. She is also a holder of Executive coaching diploma from University of Cambridge, UK. She has worked with the Stevie Award for Women in Business, New York, USA and participated in the judging panel for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. In 2013, Dr Ishrat was awarded the Asian women of Achievement award in the recognition of her scientific work and her notable achievements. She was invited to 10 Downing Street by Samantha Cameron to celebrate this award and also interviewed on BBC and featured in Cambridge News for this excellent achievement. It was hugely highlighted in British Print media. The patrons of the award are Cherie Blair and Princess Badiya bint El Hassan. These awards were conceived to celebrate the Asian women of outstanding career. Such women make a huge contribution in fields as diverse as business, entrepreneurship and social and humanitarian work. The awards are a great way to commemorate the broad range of achievements of phenomenally talented Asian women in Britain and to encourage future successes. Dr Ishrat always likes helping others and mentoring/coaching is one of the best and rewarding ways to really make a difference in people’s lives. She has over eight years experience of coaching and mentoring with various organizations including Association of Women in Science (AWIS), Harvard University and the Cambridge University. She is also a founder of a non-profit organization to financially help young students in education.
