Lebohang Monyatsi

First African Wheelchair Model

Lebohang is the first South African woman in a wheelchair to be a runway model. She is passionate about disability inclusion and accessible features for all.

Her main goal is to inspire everyone living with disability to chase their dreams, to never let their disabilities limit them, and always focus on what they can do and help in creating the world that everyone can access (barrier-free).

Lebohang is breaking stereotypes associated with people with disabilities and making people aware that differently-abled people are able to do everything that everyone else can do. She is paving the way for many who’ll follow and surpass her.

She educates local communities about disability (the importance of accessibility, disability in the entertainment industry, and disability in fashion). The purpose is to instill a culture where everyone feels included and catered for, to make the presence of disability more mainstream and accepted in our society and to help in creating the world that everyone can access (barrier-free).

She has also registered a Non-Governmental Organisation (Miss Wheelchair South Africa).
