Christine Rashid is a 25-year-old Kenyan youth born and raised in the coastal town of Kenya who graduated from the Technical University of Mombasa in Kenya with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication.
She currently works at Strategic community development organization in Mombasa Kenya as the team leader to the organization. Christine believes in creating change and having a dynamic world, as a result she has participated in various leadership programs and is so passionate about young people and women leadership and raising their voices to create and impact in a positive change in the society. She has been a beneficiary of the Ubuntu leadership training, and the She Leads project being implemented in nine countries which focus on breaking the negative gender norms against women in the society.
Christine has also been a key player in the development of Mombasa adolescent and youth policy strategy on matters around sexual reproductive health and rights. Christine has been able to lead her organization which is a young grassroot organization in securing funding to carry out different community projects. Christine has also been able to lead and mentor both young girls and boys in championing for their rights and standing up to leadership positions.
Christine is passionate on matters gender equality, youth and women leadership, advocating for children rights, advocating on mental health issues and Gender based violence issues. She has a key interest in matters mental health and young people and women leadership spaces and is also interested In interacting with other people and adapting to new ideas and innovations.
