Dr. Hannah Mugure Kamano is a 43-year-old mother of 10 children, 3 boys and 7 girls. She currently works as a research scientist at the Food Technology Research Center based at Kenya Industrial Research & Development Institute.
Previously she worked in the University of Nairobi as a research assistant serving in two projects. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, Master of Science in Food science and Technology and Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from the same University. She also holds a diploma in IMIS (Management of Information Systems) from Strathmore University. Her research interests are in mycotoxin research (particularly aflatoxin), plasma technology (decontamination and detoxification), cereals processing (Maize, orphaned crops), dairy technology and roots and tuber crops technologies.
She is hardworking, diligent, resilient and an excellent team player. Her career objectives include: to achieve a challenging position that will utilize her abilities developed through her education and experience; to help others and to gather knowledge through research.
