Joy Kareko is a competent, team-work-oriented, and responsible Data Scientist who was previously an employee-benefits consultant, and now recently switched careers to Data Science.

She is passionate about using data to solve the world’s most pressing problems business problems. She is also passionate about impacting the community through volunteering. She is currently a Future Leaders Fellow with Prospect 33 where she is sharpening her data skills in order to break into the Finance Industry as a Data Scientist. She was a recent winner of the Code4Integrity Hackathon with UNODC, a competition that saw her and her teammates traveling to Egypt to attend the Annual CoSP in Sharm El Sheikh. She is also a community leader with Anita Borg, Nairobi Chapter.

During her free time, when she is not contributing to an open-source project, or engaging the tech community with new ideas, she will be found reading a book, cycling, playing with her cat, Emma, or just taking a walk.
