Founder, Digital Rights Foundation
Nighat Dad, the founder of the Digital Rights Foundation, is a TED fellow who advocates for the rights of women online all across the globe. The Digital Rights Foundation started the Cyber Harassment Helpline which is Pakistan’s first dedicated, toll-free helpline for victims of online harassment and violence.
The helpline provides a free, safe and confidential service and aims to provide legal advice, digital security support, psychological counselling and a referral system to victims of online harassment.
The helpline provides a judgment-free, private and gender-sensitive environment for all its callers. Apart from the helpline the DRF started the Hamara Internet campaign through which experts on law and digital security travel across Pakistan and give young women digital security training on how to protect themselves online from violence.
